Officer Troy Oestreich has been the school resource officer since January of 2007.  Officer Oestreich works with the schools within the Lake Mills school district to provide resource, guidance and crime prevention programs to the students and faculties.  Officer Oestreich teaches the “Charlie Check First” personal safety program to elementary students in Kindergarten through third grade.  “Officer Troy” also teaches the DARE and GREAT programs to students in 4th, 5th, and 7th grades.

Officer Oestreich attended DARE officer training at Fort McCoy in Tomah Wisconsin in October of 2006.  He attended GREAT officer training August in Lacrosse Wisconsin in August of 2008.  Officer Oestreich holds an associates degree in Police Science from the Waukesha county technical college and has been with the Lake Mills police department since 1994.
