SHAKERAG PUTTIN' ON THE RITZ

Hi, My name is "Shakerag Puttin' On The Ritz", but you can call me Chewie. That is short for Chewbacca the Star Wars character. Jill says that I made some really funny noises when I was smaller and that is why they named me Chewbacca, but that name was too long, sooo, Chewie is what they call me. I really don't care, just don't call me late for dinner. I was born on October 29, 1998 in a small town in Wisconsin. My real dad is "Weswyn Can't Touch That" and mom is "Shakerag Mariachi." I am a Tri-Color Shetland Sheepdog.

This is me and my new mom just before I came home with her. She is really good to me and my sister Reba. Reba, by the way, was not my real sister. She was a brittany. Mom tries to brush our teeth each day and walk us every night. My new dad takes me out to an area where I can go running. The club that we belong to has made me an honorary Brittany even though I can't point birds. My job is to go find the other dogs if they get lost and bring them back. I haven't had to do that yet, but I practice herding on other dogs, until they get mad.

We went on along trip the summer of 1999. It was fun most of the time, but dad had to take a nap once in awhile so Reba & I had to stand guard. Standing guard was hard work and mom wouldn't let me bark at the neighbors. She would let me growl but that didn't wake dad up!

This is mom trying to teach me something called 'Front.' We did this in a campground in South Dakota. It was really warm even at 8 am that day. That was the same day Reba took off chasing some birds out in a field. Mom was crying and dad was yelling at Reba, so I ran around barking at everyone. I thought all the excitement was great fun.

This picture of me was taken in the the Badlands of South Dakota. I really liked it there but they wouldn't let me off the leash.

Well it is Christmas of 2000 and they put me in front of a tree. I really don't want to sit here but I guess I have to do what I am told. Oh Well, when they are done I will get a treat. I got some new toys for Christmas and I enjoy carrying them around the house. Mom will throw them for me to retrieve for her. It is allot of fun.

I stick my head down in a snow drift. Mom can't figure out why I do it but it is fun. We have about 40" of snow already and Mom has to use snow shoes in the back yard. She has made some trails for me around the yard so I can run. I tried to run in the snow and ended up buried in a drift. Mom got a big laugh out of that but I didn't think it was so funny.

This is Mom & I earning our first qual in agility. We took 4th place in Novice Standard Agility at Manitowoc WI on September 15, 2001. I get to jump 16" height class.
