~ EPISODE #010 ~ "An Interview with Susan Weidman" |
|||||
We were joined on our
tenth show by Susan
Weidman, an atheist, objectivist, independent songwriter calling
from a secured location in Atlanta
Georgia. She informed our listeners about her latest project,
a 5-song music CD she produced to benefit the survivors of
priestly abuse. 50% of the proceeds of the sales of her CD
go to SNAP
, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, and through a
donor who has agreed to match the proceeds, she has
arranged for 100% of the sales of the album to go to
the organization while these matching funds last. We also talk
at length about the victim mentality that pervades the world's
religions due to centuries of physical and emotional abuse and the
mentality that people are born bad and must believe the fairy tales
in order to be considered good, but we focused mainly on the
catholic church; the richest and most powerful brainwashing
organization known to man. She also told us about her family
and friends as she was growing up, and the common mistake many
people make when they attribute discord with disbelief, and harmony
with religion. It's actually the other way around, folks, for
reasons that should be obvious to rational people.
One of the news stories we read on this show dealt with a mass-pilgrimage to a hospital in Massachusetts, which purportedly has a window in which the virgin Mary has appeared. Thousands of true believers have come from all over the country (and probably the world as well) to see the curious chemical stains. One mother wheeled her disabled son up to touch the wall, believing that he would be miraculously healed by the grace of the ever-virgin. For the life of me, I can't really see what all the fuss is about, but perhaps our listeners will be able to see the blessed virgin in this photo. It's not retouched in the slightest. What you see here is exactly what appeared on the BBC article. If you see the mother of god in this image, don't hesitate to email us to tell us about it. The Musikal Interlewdz for the show were The Vatican Rag, by Tom Lehrer (here's another web site about Tom) and Hail Mary, the title track of Susan Weidman's CD. Celebrate with us the last BOG! episode you can count on both hands and check out the show on the stream every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM and on Sunday at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Atheist Network radio (all times Eastern). ~ Kuoxsr
