Mail Authentication IMPORTANT
If you have not done so yet, you will need to update your email settings to make sure you do not have problems in any future upgrades planned to the mail server. We have included instructions below to assist you with this. If you have any problems please feel free to contact us at 800-638-9879. These directions do not apply for customers using webmail. THESE SETTINGS ONLY APPLY TO CUSTOMERS WITH AN EMAIL ACCOUNT THROUGH US.
*Microsoft Outlook Express, Windows Mail or Windows Live*
- With your mail program open, click on Tools > Accounts
- In the Accounts window, click the mail tab then click the account mail.netwurx.net or mail.idcnet.com, or mail.gdinet.com to highlight it, and then click the Properties button on the right.
- In the Properties window, click the Servers tab at the top.
- Make sure your incoming and outgoing mail servers are both mail.netwurx.net (even if you have an IDC email address or other)
- Make sure your user ID or account name is your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (

- Place a check mark in the box at the bottom of the page under outgoing server where it says "My server requires authentication" (Make sure you place a check mark in the option at the bottom of the page.)
- Click on the Advanced tab, change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) port from 25 to 587. Nothing else should be changed.
- Click the Apply button on the Properties window, and then click OK and Close.
*Microsoft Outlook*
- With Outlook open, click on Tools > Email Accounts > View or Change an Existing Account
- In the Accounts window, click the mail account (i.e. mail.netwurx.net, mail.idcnet.com, or mail.gdinet.com) to highlight it, and then click the Change button on the right.
- In the Email Accounts window verify you have mail.netwurx.net for your incoming and outgoing mail servers.
- Make sure your user ID or account name is your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (

- Click on the More Settings button.
- In the Internet Email Settings window, click the Outgoing Servers tab at the top.
- Select the option My Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication
- Select the option Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
- Click on the Advanced tab, change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) port from 25 to 587. Nothing else should be changed.
- Click Ok > Next > Finish. You must restart Outlook for the new settings to take effect.
*Mozilla Thunderbird*
- With Mozilla Thunderbird open click on tools and account settings.
- In the window on the left select server settings, to the right make sure you have your full email addres listed under "user name"

- Click on SMTP server (Left hand side all the way at the bottom)
- On the right hand side, double click the mail server in the white box (mail.netwurx.net)
- Then click the SMTP tab.
- Verify mail.netwurx.net is in the Server Name field.
- Change the port number from 25 to 587
- Select Use name and password
- Put your full netwurX, idc, jefnet, etc email address in the User Name field.
- Use secure connection should be NO.
- Click Ok and Close.
* Mac Mail *
- In Mac mail select mail and preferences.
- Select accounts at the top.
- Make sure your incoming mail server is mail.netwurx.net (even if you have an idcnet.com or jefnet.com address)
- Make sure your username in there is your full email address. (

- Click on your outgoing mail server SMTP drop down box and click edit SMTP server list.
- Make sure your server is mail.netwurx.net
- Click the advance button in the middle of the screen and select check use custom port and use type in 587.
- Make sure your user ID or account name is your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (

- Click OK.
- Close the window. If you are asked to save the settings say yes.
